Responsibilities and Achievements:
As a SW engineer, I focus on the MTP technology research and MTP data provider development. MTP is a leading industry technology used to transfer media data from devices like cameras, smartphones to PC, or reversely. MTP component is a middle ware component in Symbian OS.
1. Lead the pictBridge dataprovider development (2009.5~now). This PREQ is to develop a new dataprovider to MTP subsystem, and to bring into the mobile phone a new pictBridge functionality. PictBridge is a technology used by digital devices like camera, mobile phone to print captured pictures when directly connected to a printer, no need PC anymore. In this PREQ, I lead a 3 people team, and responsible for the schedule plan and management, scope management, writing design sketch document, test plan, coding. And act as a communication window to image printing UI component.
2. Join a MTP component maintenance PREQ(2009.2~2009.5), enable MTP component to support files larger than 2G bytes. The legacy MTP component supports only files less than 2G bytes, however, as SD card capacity of phones is much larger than years ago, phones are more often used to store large size files, for example video files. This PREQ is to adapt MTP component to a new file systems, and enable MTP to support files with size reach 16 Exabyte. This PREQ has been delivered to product now.cheap polo shirts
3. Lead a Dataprovider Installation PREQ (2008.10~2009.2). The PREQ is aimed to adapt the MTP component to support loading the user installed MTP dataproviders. As the PREQ owner, I am responsible for the design sketch document, component design document, coding, and responsible for the quality of deliverables. And responsible for clarifying security issues or other challenges from senior technology management team. This PREQ has been delivered to product now. In this PREQ, I am the lead of 2 members team.
4. As a MTP transition team member, I co-worked with Symbian India engineers to setup the MTP ONB test environment in Beijing site (2008.7~2008.10).
